Day 01 :

Arrival in Lhasa 3,650m/12,000ft.

Once you land at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will then take you to the hotel in a private vehicle. You will be introduced to other tour members and given brief explanation of itinerary. Relax for the rest of the day. You can take casual stroll around the hotel.

Day 02 :

Full day sightseeing of Lhasa 3,650m/12,000ft.

After breakfast, you begin exploring Lhasa visiting the beautiful Potala and Norbulingka Palaces, better known as Winter palace and Summer palace, respectively. Built in the 17th century, Potala Palace provides amazing views of the entire city, and houses the private quarters of the Dalai Lama. Norbulingka Palace houses what is considered to be the largest man-made garden in Tibet. Next, you visit the Tibet Traditional Hospital, which is the center for the treatment, training, research and production of Tibetan medicine. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 03 :

Full day sightseeing of Lhasa 3,650m/12,000ft.

After breakfast, you visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar. Drepung Monastery, which was built in the 14th century, is the world’s largest monastery and believed to have sheltered around 10,000 monks in the past, but as of now there has been quite a declination resulting in only a few hundred. The history, culture, and religious beliefs of the Tibetan people are strongly concentrated and centered in this marvelous monastery. Sera Monastery is a preserved monastery of whitewashed walls and golden roofs. The main attraction to visit this monastery is to see the monks debating which is held from 3-5 pm every day apart from Sundays. Jokhang Temple is another important sacred site which unravels more deep-seated mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni when he was twelve-years-old. You further stroll through Barkhor Bazaar (market). With its open air stalls, shops and crowds of pilgrims, it is the nerve center of Lhasa. Overnight in Lhasa.

Day 04 :

Drive to Gyantse via Yamdrok Lake 4,500m/14,764ft.

Gyantse is located 261km far from Lhasa. Gyantse is the pretty tiny town that exists near to the Friendship Highway. The route to Gyantse from Lhasa stretches through Himalayan Passes. You will stop by the holy turquoise blue lake of Yamdrok Yumtso.

Day 05 :

Drive to Shigatse 3,800m/12,467ft

Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet which exists 90km far from Lhasa. You will visit Gyantse Monastery in the morning before continuing your journey to Shigatse. You will stay overnight in Shigatse.

Day 06 :

Drive to Rongbuk 4,800m/15,749ft

Early in the morning, you will visit Tashilumpo Monastery which is located at the base of Drolmari Mountain. This Monastery was established by Gendun Drukpa in 1477. You will observe the world’s largest brass statue of Buddha in Tashilumpo Monastery and drive to Shegar which exists 244 km far from the Monastery. From Shegar, you will drive for about 4hrs to reach Rongbuk where you will visit the world’s highest Rongbuk Monastery.

Day 07 :

Excursion to EBC and drive back to Lhasa 5,200m/17,060ft.

In Tibet lies the North Base Camp of Everest. You can reach North Everest Base Camp from Rongbuk Monastery in two hours. You will enjoy the views of Rongbuk Glacier and then return to Lhasa for overnight stay.

Day 08 :

Departure from Lhasa

This day marks the end of Tibet Tour with Everest Base Camp. You can either choose for extended trip or depart for your onward destination.
