Yala Peak serves as an excellent introductory peak climbing trip in the Himalayas due to its relatively simple and non-technical climb. Yala peak can be climbed in total two weeks time allowing proper rest & acclimatization and training day. Combined with the Langtang valley trek, this is an excellent climbing holiday in Langtang region for beginners and for people having limited time.
Climbing Yala peak does not require any previous mountaineering experience. Reaching the summit of the Yala peak is relatively more comfortable as compared to other trekking peaks in Nepal. It is a perfect peak for beginners to build their mountaineering skills. The summit of Yala peak affords you the unparalleled view of mountains like Langtang Lirung (7246 m), Dorje Lakpa (6990 m), Gangchempo (6388 m), and even Shishapangma (8027 m) in the Tibetan region.
Yala peak climbing journey takes you through the wonderland of the Langtang region, combining the beauty of nature and culture to offer you an enjoyable experience. The trek begins from Syabrubesi along the Langtang Khola. You continue your walk through the forested hills and pastures until you reach Kyanjin Gompa and stop for acclimatization. In the last couple of days, you move upward to reach Yala Base Camp and summit the peak to complete the adventure.
After the successful summit of the Yala peak, you retrace your steps along the familiar trail and drive back to Kathmandu. Where, Except for the base camp, you will stay in teahouse lodges with minimum necessary facilities. For the climbing period, it will be a tented accommodation. We have also kept a climbing course at the base camp before the actual climb.

14 Days Langtang Yala Peak Climbing Itinerary
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal. Upon completing the visa formalities and collecting your luggage at the airport, kindly proceed to the exit of the arrival hall. Your trip guide will await you just outside the arrival hall and escort you to hotel in Kathmandu. After you’ve refreshed, your trek guide will brief you about your trip in the lobby of your hotel in the evening. Overnight at Hotel Moonlight in Kathmandu
In Kathmandu, today is the day to check your equipment and your trek and climb guide will inform you about your trekking program for the next day. If you are short of any trek and climbing equipment that you need, use this time to arrange it. Get familiar with your surroundings by taking a walk down the street. and stay at Hotel Moonlight in Kathmandu.
From Kathmandu, you take a 8-9 – hour scenic drive to Syabru Besi, a little trading town for the Langtang area. After driving for 30 km, you approach pristine villages on the banks of the river Trishuli. You also get to view the enthralling panorama of the Himalaya, including the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and peaks of the Langtang region. Overnight at your lodge.
The first part of the trail crosses through the Bhote Koshi and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail is a gradual ascent up to Bamboo passing through landslide zones. Afterwards, you will trek down gently to Rimche (2400m) through Bamboo (1960m) which lies at the banka of Langtang Khola. En-route you can see red pandas, playful monkeys and bears if you are lucky. Stay at lodge.
After breakfast, you continue climbing amidst occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung between the trees and the trail emerges from the forest. While walking hereabouts, you get to observe playful white monkeys enjoying themselves and hear the sweet chirping of merry local birds.
The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. There is a monastery you can visit shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang, the headquarters of the Langtang National Park. The houses of Langtang and its neighbouring villages are of the flat-roofed Tibetan style, surrounded by stone walls enclosing fields of buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley. Stay at teahouse.
The trail skirts gradually through rich yak pastures and interesting customary villages of Muna to Singdun. From here you cross a wooden cantilever bridge and reach a wide valley after climbing a moraine. Finally, on ascending the mountain passes, you arrive at Kyagjing Gompa. There is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory hereabouts. You can sample some of the fresh cheese down here. Overnight at lodge in Kyagjing Gompa.
After breakfast; today, you get to explore interesting places like the monastery, cheese factory etc. You can climb Kyangjin Ri located at 4,773m/15,656ft from where great views of snow-capped mountains are spread out in wonderful display right next to you. You can walk up the moraine to see the spectacular mountain ridges and undulating glaciers. Overnight at your lodge.
Today your trek to Yala Base Camp (5033 m), which is about six hours away from Kyanjin Gompa. You walk through the beautiful pastures and then climb a rocky trail to reach Yala Base Camp. Besides, the view of Langtang Lirung peak, you can relish the stunning views of mountains like Yala Peak, Ganchempo, Naya Kanga, Tserko RI, and many others. Overnight in a base camp.
You will receive a pre-climb training from your climbing guide on this day. You will get instructions on peak climbing techniques. You will also be taught how to use the climbing gears like ice axe, crampons, harness and ascender properly. You learn how to use ropes while you move up and down.
Today is the most exciting as well as challenging day for you. Early in the morning, you start your summit to the Yala peak. The moment you reach the top, you will feel a sense of pride and great achievement. From the top, you can enjoy the unparalleled view of Dorje Lakpa, Naya Kang, Langtang Lirung, and many other snow-clad peaks in the mountain range. After your successful summit, you will trace your steps back to Kyanjin Gompa.
From Kyanjin, your take revert back to Lama Hotel. As you retrace your steps, you follow the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. you will be haul up briefly for lunch and thereafter continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel to bunk out for the night.
Today is the last day of the trek. You walk through the terraced field and green hills to reach Syabrubensi. En route, enjoy the rewarding views of the mighty mountains, Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal. Walking through the uphill forest of oak and hemlock, you will then gradually decline towards the rhododendron forest and pastures to reach the ridge at Phoprang Danda. Gently climbing the uphill, you pass through a few Buddhist monasteries and reach Syabrubensi village. Stay at lodge in Syabrubensi.
It’s a seven or eight hours easy-going cruise through a scenic highway and typical countryside on your way back to Kathmandu. You check into your hotel and the rest of the day is free to chill out and reflect on a wonderful trip. Overnight at your hotel

We will provided you, comfortable Stays in Cities and on the Trail Your comfort is our priority, whether in the bustling city or the serene mountains: In Kathmandu: Stay at Hotel Moonlight or a similar hotel, offering modern amenities for a relaxing experience, Room Arrangement: are on a twin-sharing basis, and during trek stay in teahouse/lodge, known for their warmth and hospitality. Moreover, your accommodation will be on fully tent Camping during the climbing period. A tent will be provided between every 2 climbers.
Meals at Langtang Yala Peak during the trek/climb
During the trek, meals are typically served in teahouses, offering a variety of Nepali and international dishes. Which you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). At higher altitudes, where camping is required, meals are prepared by the our trekking crew.

To partake in Yal peak climb, an excellent physical level is required as this trip involves a longer duration of trek/climb. Previous experience of high altitude treks is not mandatory to take part in this trip. While the previous experience of trek/climb is a requirement, our carefully planned itinerary allows people without previous experience to join as well.
Proper rest and acclimatization days have been kept in the itinerary. You should also be both mentally and physically prepared for this trip. A fierce determination, burning desire and teamwork is required. We have allowed ample time for acclimatization on our itinerary and there will also be a climbing course at the base camp where your guide will teach you the proper way to use the equipment.

The best seasons for Langtang Yala Peak trek/climb are Autumn (from October till the end of November) and Spring (April to May). Temperatures will drop considerably as you ascend higher every day. The nights are cold (between 5C to -5C) and the days are sunny and hot (between 10C to 20C). Mornings are usually clear, with clouds building up in the afternoon and disappearing at night. Trekking and climbing during the monsoon seasons and winters are not recommended as the visibility is poor and limited whilst upper parts and high passes could be covered with snow. April, October and November are the favoured months.
How much does the Langtang Yala Peak trek/climb cost?
The Yala peak trek/climb costs is a high mountain trek/climb that requires ropes and rock pitons. The Yala peak is at an altitude of 5,550m/18,209ft. Where technical mountaineering skills and equipment are required. Peak is steep and snowy, and it requires the use of crampons and ropes to cross it. Therefore, we need at least two people in the group. Therefore, unlike other popular trekking passes, Yala peak Trek/Climb will cost a little more, the costs of Yala trek/climb is 2,200 USD per person. But if the group is more than six pax, the cost will be discounted.

All meals are included on the trek and climb from Day 03 to 13. We will provide three meals a day (B, L, D) during the trek. The menus in the teahouses are varied, ranging from traditional Nepalese dhal bhat, Momo (Dumpling) to pizza and apple pie. During the trek, Breakfast and Dinner will be served at the teahouse/lodge where you stay and Lunch will be along the way. For the climbing period, it will be a fully camping style. Our crew will prepare the food for us. In Kathmandu, only breakfast. Meals worth USD 400-500 are included on this trip.

In Kathmandu, you stay at Hotel Vajra in Kathmandu. Where, located in Swyambhunath, Hotel Vajra also boasts of a beautiful garden where you can relax and enjoy the greenery. Breakfast will be provided in the hotel and your accommodation will be on twin sharing basis and if you would like to have a single room, upon request you are required to pay single supplement price as stated in the trip costing.
Regardless of whether you’re coming back from the mountains or touching base from the airport, come and unwind at the hotel beautiful garden, request some fine Italian espresso or a chilled Beer, and escape in the memorable surroundings of Kathmandu’s Hotel Vajra.
On Trek:
Trekking in the (Langtang area) does not need tremendous logistics in accommodation as there are many clean and friendly Lodges along the trail. Rooms are basic, normally just a bed with a pillow and blankets but with a wonderful view from your window. All the teahouses/lodges have a warm dining room-lounge. The rooms are fairly basic. The teahouse generally provides a blanket, but we will also provide a warm sleeping bag to everyone. Bathrooms are mostly shared, and toilets are squat type in most places. We will arrange for you and your group to stay in local lodges daily. Please remember that some of them are very basic, and a sense of adventure is necessary.
Tented Accommodation:
Your accommodation will be on fully tented camping during the climbing period. A tent will be provided between every 2 climbers. If in case of a single by default, then we will provide a single tent without any additional cost.
It’s mandatory and highly recommended to get travel insurance before embarking on any adventurous trips in Nepal. We advise all our clients to get travel insurance that covers up emergency helicopter evacuation that may be needed in case of the occurrence of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) or any other reasons in high altitudes where there are no other means of transportation available. It is advisable to review carefully the insurance and its coverages before making the final decision. You must ensure that your insurance provides an adequate level of protection and covers you for the activities involved.
You begin your trip with a well-paced itinerary following Langtang valley trail to Yala Peak Base Camp. Our itinerary follows the best route which allows proper acclimatization and rest days. After multiple days of the trek, you reach the base camp. We have kept a day for training and refreshment at the base camp. This allows you to move slowly into the mountains.
