Dhampus Sarangkot Trek is an 7-days short trekking program in the lower Annapurna region. Is very suitable for beginners. People of all ages, including senior citizens, can trek Dhampus Sarangkot without any problem. Dhampus Sarangkot trek, offers panoramic views of Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Annapurna II (7,937m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Lamjung Himal (6,983m), Manaslu (8,163m), Hiunchuli (6,441m), etc.

Dhampus (1,612m) and Sarangkot (1,786m) are two different places. Dhampus is a beautiful Gurung village, and Sarangkot is one of the best places in Nepal to witness a beautiful sunrise. The trek will not be difficult as you will explore the lower reaches of the Annapurna range during the Dhampus Sarangkot trek. You will hiking through forests, terraces, and rural settlements. You will meet people from different ethnic groups and different cultures in this area. From where you are starting the trek, the mesmerizing landscapes will bless your eyes and soothe your soul. Our 7-days Dhampus Sarangkot Trek Leave the Kathmandu Valley behind and head to the lake city of Pokhara . The next day, a short drive will take you to the starting point of the Dhampus Sarangkot Trek route. Pokhara is a charming city with lakes, ponds and caves all around. Where you will get very close to nature while enjoying the city life. Here, you can visit the tourist spots and spend quality time at the Phewa Lake in the evening, enjoying the beautiful sunset. Day 01 :

Arrival in Kathmandu 1,350m/4,430ft.

We recommend that you schedule your arrival in Kathmandu in the morning or afternoon. This will give you enough time to relax and recover from jet lag before starting your adventure. Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel where you will be served welcome drinks. After you have freshened up, your trek guide will brief you about your trip in the lobby of your hotel in the evening.

Get familiar with your surroundings by taking a walk down the street. Visit to Thamel, the main tourist hub. Overnight at Kathmandu's in a Hotel.

Day 02 :

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara 827m/2,713ft. 6-7hrs

After breakfast early morning, you will take a tourist bus to Pokhara. If you are lucky and get the right side of the bus, you can take pleasure in amazing views of green mountains and villages. Upon reaching the enchanting city of Pokhara which offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, peaks of Annapurna and others, you'll check in to the hotel. Pokhara has numerous lakes, known as ‘Tal’ in Nepali which offer fishing, boating and swimming. Strolling around the Lakeside city and exploring it in the evening is enjoyable. Overnight in a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 03 :

Drive from Pokhara to Phedi and trek to Dhampus 1650m/5413ft. 4-5hrs

.Today your trek, the morning begins with breakfast, from where a short drive of about half an hour takes you to the foothills of the Dhampus mountain range, known as Phedi. Start by climbing a stone staircase for a while to reach a flat land with well-cultivated villages and terraced fields. The views of the valley below are breathtaking as the trek continues for some time, the final climb of the day to the high peak of Dhampus village, will fill you with views of the peaks of the Annapurna mountain range to the south, as well as snow-capped mountains such as Machhapuchhre (6993 m) and Lamjung Himal (6883 m). You will also have a special interaction with the local Gurung people and be amazed by their simplicity and innocence.

Day 04 :

Morning enjoy views and trek to Sarangkot 1786m/5860ft. 5-6hrs

In the morning, enjoy the view of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges in Dhampus village where the sunrise is visible over the mountains, including towering and majestic Machhapuchhre, known as the Fishtail because of its two peaks. Enjoy breakfast with amazing views of the Himalayan range, and start your second day’s trek at the top of Dhampus ridge, then descend to the river ghat for some time inside a nice farm village. It takes less than an hour to reach Naudanda from the gorge and village located on the Beni Highway from Pokhara. From here, head east on a nice scenic road to Sarnakot, where the trek takes you through the large village of Kaskikot to Sarnakot for your final night in the hills of Pokhara Valley.

Day 05 :

Catch the sunrise over the mountain range and walk to Pokhara 827m/2,713ft. 2-3hrs

Sarangkot is a popular and famous sunrise and sunset viewing hill, which attracts hundreds of visitors for its magnificent sunrise views and views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. Paragliding and zip-flying, a popular adventure sport, start from the top of Sarangkot hill. After enjoying the amazing views of the Himalayan peaks and sunrise, you will have breakfast. After breakfast, you will walk down, on the way you will not take your eyes off the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges that surround you. Upon reaching Pokhara, check in at the Mount View Hotel near Fewa Lake and spend some time wandering around the banks of Fewa Lake.

Day 06 :

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu 1,350m/4,429ft.

Early morning, you take a tourist bus to get back to Kathmandu. Watching scenic countryside en route makes your long bus journey interesting. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, your guide will transfer you to your hotel. Rest of the day can be spent at leisure or perhaps catching up with some last minute shopping in Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 07 :

Final departure, or join optional activities

How difficult is the Dhampus Sarangkot Trek?

The duration of this category of trek is one (1) week. The trek, generally easy, on a daily basis, you can walk for about 3 to 4 hours. This is a great setting for an introduction to easy to moderate trekking in Nepal. The activity level/physical rating is a little more than leisurely and expect some ascents and descents at times as there will be hills to climb and – a little up and a little down.

Do I need previous experience to participate in this hike?

No prior hiking experience is required and it is not mandatory to participate in this trip. All travelers are required to be in good physical health to fully participate in this trip. And we advise you to do some regular exercise, whether it be hiking, running or going to the gym. However, all our itineraries are prepared keeping in mind every aspect and allow enough time for weather adaptation. Therefore, this trip can be done by anyone.

When is the best time to trek Dhampus Sarangkot?

The best time to trek Dhampus Sarangkot is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months have stable weather, clear skies, and moderate temperatures, making it ideal for trekking. However, the trek can also be done during the winter and summer months, but the weather conditions can be more challenging.
