The Mohare Danda (3,313m) Trek is a new destination where trekkers stay in community-owned lodges or homestay. This gives you a more intimate experience and a great way to understand the local traditions and lives of the people in this region. Trek in the foothill of Annapurna Region is well known as Eco Lodge Community Trek. This newly opened trek in an off the beaten track trail of the Annapurna Region is rich in fauna and flora with dense pine, oak and bamboo forests – especially rhododendron forests and their magnificent pink and red flowers.
From a vantage point of 3,300m, you will have awesome panoramic views of some of the largest mountain ranges in the Himalayas, such as the 120 km long Dhaulagiri Massif and the Annapurna Massif –(comprising of peak over 8000m, thirteen peaks over 7000m, and sixteen more over 6000m). That brings you in direct contact with local families and villages of the Magar and Gurung people.
Trekkers will appreciate the unique culture and resilience of the villagers living in this out-of-the-way region. Their genuine smiles are contagious and their hospitality second to none. 10-Day Mohare Danda Trek Itinerary
We recommend that you schedule your arrival in Kathmandu in the morning or afternoon. This will give you enough time to relax and recover from jet lag before starting your adventure. Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel where you will be served welcome drinks. After you have freshened up, your trek guide will brief you about your trip in the lobby of your hotel in the evening.
Get familiar with your surroundings by taking a walk down the street. Visit to Thamel, the main tourist hub. Overnight at Kathmandu's in a Hotel.

After breakfast early morning, you will take a tourist bus to Pokhara. If you are lucky and get the right side of the bus, you can take pleasure in amazing views of green mountains and villages. Upon reaching the enchanting city of Pokhara which offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, peaks of Annapurna and others, you'll check in to the hotel. Pokhara has numerous lakes, known as ‘Tal’ in Nepali which offer fishing, boating and swimming. Strolling around the Lakeside city and exploring it in the evening is enjoyable. After breakfast, you will drive from Pokhara to Galeshwor, then northwest to Galeshwor village. The three and a half hour drive to Galeshwor passes along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. Where, after a short lunch, you will start your trek and trek for three hours on foot to Banskharka. You will spend the night in Banskharka.

Today, your trek gradually ascends through the lushly forested trail leading from Banskharka. The day starts with a hearty meal at your homestay and head north to Nangi. The 5-6 hours long trek leads from Banskharka and passes along small, beautiful villages offering the stunning views of the nearby mountains and impressive landscapes. You can also visit the organic farm school located in a Magar village. Overnight at Nangi.

Today, the trek materializes at the dainty peak of Mohare Hill. Leaving Nangi, the trail goes through the beautiful forests of Oak and Rhododendrons along with the magnificent views of Machhapuchhre (6997m), Annapurna South (7219m), Tukuche (6920m), and Nilgiri (7061m). Mohare is a small hill-station that offers a panoramic view of the surrounding. In the late-noon, you can observe the glorious sunset view from Mohare before resting at an eco-community lodge in Mohare Danda. Overnight at Mohare Danda.

This morning, you will enjoying a beautiful sunrise view at Mohare Danda, you’ll head down to the nearby village of Khibang. Khibang is a small Eco-Community known for its community forests and homestay. A 5-6 hours of the trek will take you through the Oak and Rhododendron forests to Khibang. You can choose to visit the community forest and organic farm along the way. Overnight at Khibang.

Today you will leaving Khibang behind, you’ll retrace your path and head downhill. Today, you’ll make your way to Tikot village, a small Magar settlement. A short trek will be filled with a lovely time among nature. You’ll enjoy your lunch and dinner at one of the community lodges along with an overnight stay. Located at 2210m, Tikot remains one of the most beautiful Magar villages in Nepal. Overnight at Tikot.

After breakfast, you leaving Tilkot, you’ll head further down to Tiplyang village. Tiplyang will the last village en route to Pokhara. A small village nestled to the southwest of the Annapurna massif and the bank of the Kali Gandaki River, the village is less frequently visited by tourists. Once at Tiplyang, you’ll catch a jeep back to Pokhara. Stay overnight at Pokhara.

Early morning, you take a tourist bus to get back to Kathmandu. Watching scenic countryside en route makes your long bus journey interesting. How difficult is the Mohare Danda Trek?
Duration for treks of this grade stretches up to two (2) weeks. Trails generally go above 3000 meters and on a daily basis, you can expect to be walking for about 5 – 7 hours. The perfect setting of introduction to moderate & challenging trekking in Nepal. Activity level/physical rating is slightly harder than leisure and involves occasional difficult days. Expect ups and downs as well for there will be hills to climb as well and – a little bit up and a little bit down.
