Kathmandu Pokhara Tour

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, AlpineTrav Treks will arrange to pick you up from the airport. You will then be transferred to your hotel. During the late afternoon, you can take a rest at your hotel room. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by AlpineTrav Treks. For dinner, you will be served excellent authentic Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country’s food culture. Overnight in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, you'll begin your sightseeing tour by visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites within Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepalese art and architecture at its best. The architecture is typical of the Malla dynasty who ruled over Nepal from the 12th to the 18th century. Swayambhunath Temple is popular among the foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. Pashupatinath Temple is situated on the banks of river Bagmati and is one of the principal temples of Lord Shiva. The Bauddhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in South Asia which is built on the ancient trade route to Tibet.

Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Patan Durbar Square is rich in ancient arts and architecture. You will also visit Bhakatpur, an irresistible city with an authentic local lifestyle preserved over centuries of isolation from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. While in the city square, you get to admire the Nyata-Pola Temple, the Golden Gate, water spouts and the 55 Window Palace which merge together to provide an ambiance of a magical outdoor theater to its visitors. You also immerse ourselves in the authentic delicacy of the locals in Bhaktapur. Then you will drive to Nagarkot, a village renowned for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas and enjoy spectacular sunset views amidst the Himalayas. Overnight in Nagarkot.

Early in the morning you'll watch the sun as it rises from the mighty Himalayas. Next, you'll have breakfast then leave for Pokhara, also known as The Lake City owing to the large number of lakes in the city. Upon your arrival in Pokhara you are rewarded with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri (8,167m/26,794ft), Manaslu (8,156m/26,759ft), Machhapuchhre (6,993m/22,943ft), the peaks of Annapurna and others. You then check-in to your hotel and take a rest. After you may also stroll in the streets of Pokhara and just enjoy being in one of the most beautiful cities of Nepal. Overnight in Pokhara.

Early in the morning you'll leave for Sarangkot, a hill that overlooks the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in the north and Pokhara city in the south. From here, you will catch amazing views of the sun as it rises in the mighty Himalayas. You then head back to Pokhara and continue touring the city’s landmarks. Davis Falls is a unique waterfall that flows directly into a narrow and deep canal which has no end. The Shiva Cave is located near Davis Fall and houses a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, a primary Hindu God. You will also do some boating in Phewa Lake, the largest lake in Pokhara and visit Barahi Temple located at the center of the Lake. You will visit the famous International Mountain Museum (IMM) that records, documents and chronicles the past and present development of mountaineering activities in the world and the Himalayas in particular. You also tour the Tibetan refugee camp and witness how the refugees keep themselves busy by producing and trading woolen carpets and other handicraft items. Overnight in Pokhara.

After breakfast, you will say goodbye to the beautiful northern skyline of Pokhara and drive towards Kathmandu. To celebrate the successful completion of your journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening. Stay overnight at Kathmandu.
